Groundbreaking for New NHanced Facility in Indiana

Nov 21, 2022, saw the groundbreaking for WestGate One, the first semiconductor fab in the US to be built specifically for Advanced Packaging. NHanced will be the anchor tenant of the facility. WestGate One is situated near the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center, expected to be a primary customer.

WestGate One will be a first class hub for semiconductor excellence. Three other semiconductor companies have already committed to establish operations at the site; additional partnerships are expected with industry, government, and educational institutions.

“This day will change the world. This facility will be the first purpose-built advanced packaging and manufacturing factory in the United States and the world. I see what we are doing here as planting a new seed which will dramatically increase the footprint of Indiana in the semiconductor industry, but it secures our economic and military supremacy in the world. This is a way we can on-shore technology. This is about getting across the valley we have between very innovative technology, which the U.S. is number one in, to volume manufacturing where we have been stymied. This is about proving it can be done and we can win in a global marketplace when it comes to manufacturing.”
