Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain health and safety programs including:
    • Confined Spaces
    • Contractor and Visitor Safety
    • Electrical Safety
    • Fire Prevention and Protection
    • Hazard Communication
    • Hazardous Materials
    • Laser Safety
    • Lockout / Tagout
    • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Communicate employee rights and responsibilities related to workplace health and safety, including impacts of major facility changes or incident investigations
  • Create and deliver presentations in relevant health and safety topics
  • Maintain emergency response equipment and select/train personnel
  • Investigate safety incidents (near hit, first aid, lost time, etc.) to determine root causes and corrective actions
  • Document recordable illnesses and injuries according to OSHA standards
  • Maintain a list of site-applicable OSHA regulations and conduct periodic inspections to verify compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
  • Lead risk reduction projects for tasks with significant risk

Qualifications – Required

  • US citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of OSHA general industry standards

Qualifications – Preferred

  • 2+ years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Safety-related certification (ASP, CSP, CSHM, etc.)

Skills

  • Communication with all levels of the organization
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Stand for long periods of time
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Walk long distances
  • Wear cleanroom attire, including protective eye gear and face mask
